Does my insurance cover Chiropractic ? In many cases yes! Sadly of late the insurance industry has become quite adversarial and many companies just don’t tell the practitioner or the patient the truth about their coverage. As a result, I recommend you exercise due diligence and double check your coverage with your carrier. They have NO obligation to tell your doctors the truth about your coverage, which is why I no longer “Verify” coverage for my patients, but they do have a contract with you. Understand that ultimately you are responsible for the payment of your bills. We do offer significant discounts to those of our patients who are uninsured if they pay for their care at the time services are rendered. If your insurance misrepresents your coverage we will attempt to negotiate with them on your behalf to see that you get the maximum that your benefits allow. If your insurance carrier refuses to pay your bill I’ll lower it to the cash price provided you take care if it in a timely fashion. Dr. Strubbe is a provider for Blue Shield, Aetna and Medicare and is a member of many of the HMO and PPO networks. We are part of the Community Care and Private Health Care Systems networks (PHCS). If your insurance provider says anything about ASHP (American Specialty Health Plans) or ACNE I am not in their plan. These plans use the euphemism of “Encounter threshold” when talking about reimbursements to your provider. The Maximum amount allowed is less than the cost of doing business and as a result I’d question the ethics of any Chiropractor who is willing to accept the rates of these providers. Just how much do you think your care would matter to a Doctor who is willing to take your case on at a financial loss. I make these statements after being in those plans for over two years and they do not honor their obligations to the providers or the patients. There is some truth to the concept that you get what you pay for and I certainly don’t want to see the bargain bin Chiropractor. It is my unwillingness to compromise patient care that is the reason for my dropping out of these plans. I accept All types of personal injury cases with no charges due from the patient until the case settles with a lien on file from their attorney, Even if you were the one that caused the accident. Your Auto Insurance policy still provides you with medical insurance for your injuries. REMEMBER! FLORIDA IS A NO FAULT STATE- IN SHORT THAT MEANS NO MATTER WHAT, NO MATTER WHO CAUSES THE CAR ACCIDENT, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN INSURANCE IF YOU OWN A VEHICLE. We would be happy to discuss this with you further or answer any questions that you may have. I accept any valid workman’s compensation case, these are tricky because you must be authorized to come here. You have to request it to your work comp adjuster. You do have a choice if you ask to see a Doctor of your choice, otherwise they will send you to one of their Doctors. Which is fine.... as long as you are happy with their service. Sometimes patients don't understand that they have choosing their doctor as an option.
